Question 5

Accepted Answer

Search for the publisher's past titles on retailer sites and library databases, verify their business address, look for independent author reviews, and confirm named staff exist outside the company's own website.

Question 6

Where can I find genuinely reputable independent publishers?

Accepted Answer

Organizations like the Independent Book Publishers Association maintain member directories of vetted publishing companies, which is a safer starting point than a cold internet search.
